Loretta is a qualified Transpersonal Art Therapist, registered with the Australian Counselling Association. Her passion lies in helping people deal with emotional issues and crisis, in particular with those that have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and life change.
After practicing as an artist for many years, Loretta was interested in how art could be beneficial to mental health. This led her to study mental health under the transpersonal model, a psycho-spiritual approach to wellbeing. She discovered how the transpersonal model in conjunction with art and expressive therapy, could be beneficial for overall mental health and wellbeing. Research in neuroscience has also established the benefits of art therapy on the brain and how creative expression can assist in treatment. Loretta is now in the process of furthering her studies at the University of Melbourne in psychology.
Transpersonal art therapy combined with personal-centred counselling, an approach that builds a safe and trusting therapeutic alliance between the therapist and the individual, Loretta will be able to assist you through your own life issues. She will help you use art materials and other expressive processes to verbalise underlying thoughts so that you can find new ways to deal with the issue in your life.
Please be assured artistic ability is irrelevant, Loretta will be by your side as you explore your issue and assist you to create meaning, authenticity, personal growth, healing and empowerment in your life.
This is a positive approach to therapy that facilitates a renewed level of wellbeing and healing, both being the basis of psycho-spiritual work. Loretta brings a depth of knowledge and innate gift in connecting with people who seek to find a deeper realization and direction in their life.
